CSSCriteria

Make a multiple page website on a subject of your choosing. The pages should contain the barest of html possible, and as much as possible the visual aspects of the pages should be controlled by a single css page.

The site should be easy to use.
The site should look like you, not the browser, are in control of the design aspects of the site.

The site should encourage the user to stay within the site and not to leave.

The information needs to be easy to access. The user of the site should be able to read the text and find the information they need through your navigation system.

Structure/design

  • Uses the correct page naming as described in the project description
  • pictures and graphics are in their own directory if there are a lot of them.
  • Navbars are consistent on all the pages
  • The entire site looks like it has been designed
  • Colors and pictures do not interfere with the user reading and finding information.

Stickyness

  • The site encourages the user to stay
  • Links to external pictures, videos or pages open in their own windows

Navigation system

  • Main navbar at top
  • Links work
  • Links are organized in a logical and thoughtful manner
  • Sections like videos, photos and downloads have their own subnav menu
  • Subnav appears when user is in the pages relating to that section

Html

  • Your pages should use a minumum of html
  • Anything that can be controlled by the css should be
  • HTML tags should be captitalized
  • Your name should appear as first name last initial only
  • You should comment different sections of the code for easier maintenance

Css

  • You should use 'classes' to define elements of the pages
  • You should comment different sections of the code for easier maintenance.
  • img tag and div tag control

Extras

  • Online posting of your website
  • Register your own domain name
  • Making your own navbar pictures
